"REMENDANDO ANDO... "
Project selected to be exhibited at Fundación Teatro Odeón.

I continue walking. I enter a theater in ruins. An “icon of Bogotá’s cultural history.” “Built in the early 1940s to house Cinema Odeón, one of the city’s first movie theaters.” “A space where large-scale film screenings were shown, a space through which itinerant theaters would later pass in the 1950s.” “Thirty years later, it became the home of one of the most important performing arts theaters the country has had: the TPB (Teatro Popular de Bogotá),” an institution that remains engraved in the memory of several generations of citizens. On its stage, actors such as Fanny Mikey shone, who served as executive director of the TPB for seven years, among others.
I walk through its garden. I begin to see how nature has played a spectacular role in this space: that of mending the wounds of what was once one of the most important cultural sites in the country. Respecting the remarkable work that nature has been carrying out in this important place in Bogotá, I set out to mend, with green thread, hook #2, and needle, one of the wounds that nature had not yet mended. Thus the project “Remendando ando…” was created, an art installation that grew as the days of the exhibition “En Obra Negra” went by.
